There are a few medical conditions for which the increased pressure of being 6 feet underwater, even in swimming pool, can be dangerous. These conditions are:

* Pulmonary Affections: Emphysemas, Pneumothorax, Gas Embolism.

* Air ways illnesses.

* Claustrophobic Symptoms (depending on their severity).

If you have any of the above or if you are not certain
or confident about your ability to be underwater, please seek professional medical advice and approval before beginning Underwater Meditation.

All of our sessions
are performed
in an indoor heated pool no deeper than
6 feet at the 'Dive Stop' dive shop location.

Since M.e.d.i.t.a.r Underwater Meditation is the first of its kind in bringing something like this to the general public, let's take a look at the specifics of the sessions in a little more detail.

One of the primary goals was to make this available to everybody who feels moved to experience not just being underwater (an exciting experience in itself) but also being able to incorporate all the fantastic sensations of traditional meditation and beyond as a vehicle for growth and deeper understanding.

You do not need any kind of previous experience to practice underwater meditation.

In fact, if you are new to meditation altogether, that is a good thing since you won't have any preconceptions about it. And if you are a habitual practitioner: get ready to uncover a new dimension of meditation.

If you have never breathed underwater with normal scuba diving gear, you'll be introduced to the proper techniques before getting
in the water. It really doesn't take more than a few minutes to learn the technique in the shallow end of a swimming pool.

A standard diving tank will remain out of the water, attached to a long hose and a regulator.
